Larry Wilson was a behavior-based safety consultant when he determined the need for a program that went beyond the limitations of BBS. This program was SafeStart, which he developed and officially launched it in 1998.

In addition to an extensive range of SafeStart and SafeTrack learning materials, Larry has authored numerous articles as well as co-authoring the book Inside Out: Rethinking Traditional Safety Management Paradigms and a new book called Defenseless Moments.

He is also a masterfully skilled and influential speaker in the safety industry—a subject matter expert with a very polished delivery. He’s proven this with over 25 years of speaking experience at health and safety conferences, international events all over the world, and annual sessions at national ASSP, NSC and VPPPA conferences.

Paul founded the HSE Global Series in 2017 to provide high level content and insights to the leaders of the HSE industry. The business is made up of both physical events hosted in the UK, North America, Europe, Middle East & North Africa and Scotland and virtual events. In 2019 the Global Series started the HSE Global Series Foundation which was set-up to support the families of HSE professionals who has suffered an injury etc. Alongside this the HSE Network also founded in 2019 and is an online platform featuring C-Level content both video and written.

Paul is an established Author known for his sales guide 'Building Sales Warriors' which was published in September 2017.

Alex has over 30 years of international operations and business management experience, most recently as Chief Performance Officer with Etex, a 3B euro global supplier of building materials. With Etex, Alex has led a deep change in mindset and processes around EHS, including global implementation of SafeStart. Etex has significantly improved its safety performance over the past decade, with a reduction in lost workday cases of more than 85%. Driving Behavioral improvement is believed to be the key to continue this improvement track, with SafeStart as a central element.

Prior to Etex, Alex held Leadership Roles in operations and General Management at AlliedSignal, Honeywell, and Performance Fibers, working in diverse organizational setups (corporations, private equity) and diverse geographical situations (US, Europe, Asia). Alex believes that performance (safety and also business performance) and employee engagement are driven by making priorities and initiatives fit well with the culture of the global and local companies, and has seen this in very distinct situations.

Alex has a degree in Chemical Engineering along with a Masters in Business Administration. He is American and has lived in Europe for the past 20 years.

Mariana is a Brazilian born EHS leader with +18 years of experience in EHS in major companies such as DuPont, Sony and Johnson & Johnson in Latin America and Europe.

She has built her career in the chemicals, medical devices, consumer goods and animal nutrition sectors. Among her qualifications, she holds a MSc. in Occupational Health and Safety (UPC, Spain), an MBA in Environment Technologies (USP, Brazil) and a NEBOSH International Certificate. Since 2016, Mariana has held different EHS management positions in Cargill and currently she leads EHS for the Cargill Animal Nutrition in West Europe, a Cargill Animal Nutrition & Health Enterprise that delivers innovative solutions to help our customers win in Five Global Species Segments: Poultry, Pork, Ruminants, Aqua and Additives.

One of her main responsibilities on her current roles is to champion Cargill Focus on LIFE program what matches her passion about making the difference in people’s lives by driving changes in organization’s EHS culture. On addition to her responsibilities, Mariana is part of the extended EMEA Pandemic Crisis Management Team making the connection between the Cargill EHS Corporate and the Animal Nutrition Business.

Alastair have worked for many years at companies such as Cadbury, Mondelez and now Outukumpu, creating and delivering corporate strategy for Health & Safety and setting and implementing assurance, assessment and governance strategies.

Alastair is a leader in cultural change and performance improvement, designing and delivering behavioural and leadership programmes for cultural change.

David is currently the Divisional SHEQ & IMS Manager at Epiroc, with over 40 years of experience in manufacturing and is well-versed in technology.

From programming CNC machinery and managing transitions from the mainframe to computing shop floor execution systems, implementing manufacturing shop floor networks and managing product excellence, he’s practiced in implementing quality and safety systems for industrial and automotive organisations. His experience also includes safety initiatives that led to reduced workplace injuries and lost time through a safety culture migration.

David is the current Covid-19 Coordinator at Epiroc USA and the Global SafeStart Programme Manager, being responsible for implementing SafeStart at all Epiroc locations worldwide.

Michael has held senior HS&E positions in various industries ranging from Pharmaceuticals, Chemicals, Inks and Coatings to Engineering. In these roles he has led the business to world class performance against industry peers and top centile when benchmarked against all industries.

Michael has also held senior positions outside of HS&E – as business leader for a pharma division and Strategy, Mergers and Acquisition director for EMEA/Asia regions.

Currently Michael heads as SVP, HSE and Sustainability for ABB globally, based at their Zurich HQ. In this role balancing the various functional activities from site and people Security, Corporate Responsibility and Human Rights, HSE and linking this to a clear and effective sustainability strategy is an excellent challenge.
